For Post-deployed military members and spouses

WHAT’S THE PURPOSE OF MISSION STRONG CONNECTION?
The Goal of Mission Strong Connection is to support post deployed active duty service members and their spouses through marital education to reduce the stress of reunion and to improve the couple’s relationship for a lifetime.

WHERE IS IT LOCATED? We hold Mission Strong Connection at off base sites that are located nearby and donated for our course.

HOW DOES IT WORK? Mission Strong Connection is a meeting of small groups of active duty members and their spouses who are taught an empirically based method to increase the safety and connection in their marriage leading to increased and lasting satisfaction.

WHAT’S THE FORMAT? Often we hold Mission Strong Connection as a 2 ½ day seminar (or TBD)

HOW MANY PEOPLE PARTICIPATE? The group Size is typically 6 to 10 post-deployment couples

CAN YOU TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE PROGRAM? Mission Strong Connection is based on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) presented through Sue Johnson’s book Hold Me Tight with an experiential and attachment focus. It is professionally led by a trained EFT therapist with in-depth knowledge of EFT who has completed advanced EFT training.

Group members are involved and learn through best-practice instruction which utilizes stories, presentations, small group exercises and other forms of participation.

WHAT WILL WE LEARN? You will learn about these concepts: mindfulness, attachment, dialogues, hypersensitivity, emotional disconnection and mis-attunement, injuries,responsiveness and engagement, forgiving injuries, bonding through sex and touch, and maintaining love, PTSD and mTBI

WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER PARTICIPATING? Post-deployment service members asked for support for their families. By improving a couple’s relationship, the family relationship is improved.
